Alcohol Awareness Month (April) Media Campaign Support

April 2016 is the 30th Annual Alcohol Awareness Month, and a perfect time for your community coalition to spread the word about the treatment and prevention of alcoholism, and the role parents and the communities play in youth consuming alcohol. This year’s theme is “Talk Early, Talk Often”, and focuses on the influence parents have in reducing teen alcohol use. Sponsored by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc., one of the signature events of Alcohol Awareness Month is Alcohol-Free Weekend, scheduled for the first weekend in April (April 1-3), where NCADD encourages all Americans to engage in three alcohol-free days. Consider encouraging this in your community, and learning more about it throughout this guide and through the official NCADD’s 2016 Guide.
